On Thursday, March 12th, 2020, I had the opportunity to serve in addressing food scarcity, students, Fresno State, North Fresno Rotary, and my alum (Fresno State), and First Lady Mary "Mamma" Castro; and things didn't go as planned.

Lessons learned.

After taking over Rotary District's website, I had to relearn the Wordpress Content Management System (CMS).  That lead to other volunteer opportunities, which lead to more opportunities to learn.

One of the best things about OpenSource software is that there are always (most of the time) people willing to help out a newbie.

I'm excited to say that I get to volunteer with Rotary District 5230 on a project to finally accept online payments. This has been a long time coming and has taken some long chats about technology with the Silent Generation, the Baby Boomers, Gen X, Xennials, and the Millennials, Gen Y, Gen Next. In the end, the Spirit of Rotary and collaboration took hold and it looks like the project is a green-lighted.

This project was mandated to update Rotary International Zone 26/27 District 5230's website.  The website is Wordpress and is integrated with data from DacDB.
