District 5230 Goals 2018

Strategic Priorities:

1.      By July 1, 2021 District 5230 will have 3000 active members. Person responsible for developing the action plan: Team Leader, Bobbie Foster, District Club Development Committee Chair.  Committee members from the planning committee: Jessie Decker, Don Kremer, Rod Belton.

-       Potential Strategies to attain the Goal (some were identified as lower priorities.

·       Increased Retention

·       Take advantage of Information contained at Learn.Rotary.org

·       Special effort to reach newly retired

·       Special emphasis on young professionals with a Goal of 250 under 45yrs.

·       Special efforts to increase women membership to 40% (from approx. 30%)

·       Encourage clubs to implement a flexible membership structure.

·       Charter 15 new clubs with some “non-traditional”

·       Programs that bridge Rotaractor to Rotary

·       Reentry of past Rotarians

2.      By July 1. 2021 District 5230 will have a Streamlined District Training and Leadership Development System and an Increased level of applicants for District Leadership.  Two priorities are combined considering that Leadership development is, in large part, a matter of training and experience.

-       Potential Strategies to attain the Goal (some were identified as lower priorities.

·       On-line Training through Webinars, promoting on-line training and webinars from RI and TRF, etc.

·       Implement RLI Training (there are on-line sessions)

·       Implement advanced Leadership Academy (Some form our district visited D5160 to experience theirs)

·       Perhaps implement outside leadership development courses?

·       Develop consistent curriculum starting with CLT, Pre-Pets, SIS, etc.

·       Promote training as “Added Value” to members.

3.      By July 1, 2021 the Office of District 5230 Governor is more balanced for a “Working” person

Person responsible for developing the action plan: Team Leader, Rod Coburn, District Governor Nominee.  Committee members from the planning committee: Jeff Vezzolo, Susan Winey, Joy Anderson

Potential Strategies to attain the Goal (some were identified as lower priorities.

·       Research other Districts that have addressed this issue

·       Contact RI Club and District Support for advice

4.      By July 1, 2021 District 5230 will have a superior Communication Strategy (8)

Person responsible for developing the action plan: Team Leader, Jeff Dippel, District Communication Committee Director Committee members from the planning committee:  None.  DCC is self-contained.

Potential Strategies to attain the Goal (some were identified as lower priorities.)

·       Communication system in place that gives District Leadership indications of what is going on in our clubs.

5.      By July 1, 2012 District 5230 will have a streamlined pipeline for RYLA, Interact to Rotaract to Rotary.  Interact/Rotaract membership will increase by 25%

6.      By July 1, 2021 Every club is contributing The Rotary Foundation in a meaningful way, increasing each year (4)
