I will be presenting at this year’s Rotary International, District 5230, Club Leadership Training Assembly as North Fresno Rotary’s Technology Director, District Resource Leader, and District Public Relations Officer.

I will be presenting and discussing the following topics:

  • Encourage members use of their club’s Social Media pages for information.
  • Social Media is not intended to replace Club Newsletters and Websites
  • Club Social Media Director should work with the Newsletter Editor and Webmaster to coordinate their publications.
  • Social Media: Note immediacy over the other two. 
  • The Club Website, Club Newsletter and all club emails should include links to the club’s Social Media pages.
  • Club Social Media pages should include links to the Club Website and Club Newsletter.
  • There is a fairly standard format for Rotary Club Facebook pages but they can include whatever the club wishes.  Possible items include:
    • Meeting recaps featuring Guest Speakers
    • Photos
    • Club Calendar
    • Club Events
    • Club Projects (with Testimonials from beneficiaries)
    • Fundraisers (with link to ticket sales)
    • Call for non-Rotarian volunteers for events
    • About our Club
    • About Rotary (with links to District and RI websites)
    • How to attend a meeting
    • Promote new club members.
    • Publicize club members featured in Traditional Media.

        • The flow of information will come from the top down.  The DG will present an idea for distribution throughout the District.  Then the DG and the DCC chair and the Public Image Director will craft the actual message and then send it to the New Media Officers for distribution as well as to the District Newsletter Editor and the District Webmaster.
